I am a techniques-certified practitioner of Upledger CranioSacral Therapy.

CranioSacral Therapy is a bodywork therapy that uses a light yet highly precise touch, which can have powerful effects. Connecting with the body tissues in this way may help gently release restrictions and provide the support, or initial impetus, required to help the body to heal and to function with greater ease and efficiency.

The name refers to the craniosacral system, consisting of the membranes which protect the brain and spinal cord, and the cerebrospinal fluid which flows within them. Work at the level of the craniosacral system radiates out to all the other systems in the body.

Working with awareness of, and respect for, the body’s own powerful healing mechanisms as well as anatomical precision, I offer CranioSacral techniques for the whole body, including delicate mouthwork to help with dental and facial trauma, and dialoguing techniques to help release emotional trauma stored in the body tissues.

People seek help from CranioSacral Therapy for issues such as insomnia, hormonal imbalance, menstrual and menopausal problems, headaches, anxiety and depression, physical and/or emotional trauma from recent or old injury, facial neuralgia, eye problems, recurrent back pain and joint pain, neck and shoulder issues, sciatica, low mood and dental issues.

I am fascinated by the way that this therapy can touch people on more levels than just the physical. As well as supporting physical healing, CranioSacral therapy can also be a place where we meet deeper aspects of ourselves, and bring unconscious patterns into our conscious awareness. This can then empower us to make changes in our lives which will help us to heal.

I am a member of the CranioSacral Society, and I regularly attend further training sessions for Continuous Professional Development to support and inform my work. I also receive CranioSacral treatments myself, which not only help to maintain my health and wellbeing, but also allow me to experience the therapy from a client’s as well as a practitioner’s perspective.

“The secret something that is shared by all effective healing methods is the process of leading the patient to an honest and truthful self-discovery… It is only through self-healing – in contrast to curing – that patients can experience both permanent recovery and spiritual growth.” Dr. John E.
